Returning home to 10,000 walks
July 1 - August 22, 2010
Peggy McConnell Arts Center
777 Evening Street
Worthington, OH 43085

For this exhibition, Returning home to 10,000 walks, I plan to create new works inspired by pedestrian excursions in the neighborhoods of Worthington along with drawings of interior spaces from memory. I am interested in connecting a novel exploration of place with meditations on previous residences. The ordinary act of returning home offers comfort as well as highlights an uneasy dissonance between familiar places and novel experiences.

Transforming the space with a recycled paper installation, this exhibition will playfully consider the themes of drawing, the act of prayer as a creative endeavor, along with an ordered description of the universe. When We Build, Let Us Think We Build Forever
August 8, 2009
Opening Reception from 6 - 9 pm
The Luminary Center for the Arts
4900 Reber St Louis, MO 63131

An upcoming group exhibition at The Luminary Center for the Arts.

Entitled Night, I am transforming ordinary brown paper bags into a room-sized painted nightscape for the exhibition. The imagery of the piece responds to our present shared economic situation as both a conclusion and a cyclical occurrence.

“When We Build, Let Us Think That We Build Forever” is a curated group show focused on the intersection of natural and manmade environments. Ranging from ecological experiments to meditations on the precariousness of our built environment, the exhibit presents a poetic view of the world that surrounds us and our effect on it. “When We Build” features the work of primarily St. Louis-based artists, giving a local viewpoint and immediacy to the exhibit.
